Mid-Market Rent Compliance Programme Module 3 - Managing and Ending a Tenancy

This module, delivered over two sessions, covers your ongoing obligations during a tenancy and the end of tenancy process.

Description

Keep tenancies on track - and bring them to a proper close.

Once a tenancy is up and running, your responsibilities do not stop. Managing a tenancy well - and bringing it to an end lawfully - requires a clear understanding of what the private rented sector framework requires at every stage.

This module covers the ongoing obligations that apply throughout a tenancy and walks you through the end-of-tenancy process in full, including what must happen legally, what tenants are entitled to, and how to manage the process in a way that is fair, consistent, and compliant.

Why attend?

Because how a tenancy ends is just as important as how it begins. Getting it wrong can result in legal challenge, reputational damage, and distress for tenants. This module ensures you are equipped to manage the process with confidence. Over two sessions, you will:

  • Understand your ongoing obligations as a landlord and letting agent during the tenancy.
  • Know the legal requirements for ending a private residential tenancy in Scotland, including the use of notices and the tribunal process.
  • Learn how to manage deposit repayment, property inspections, and end-of-tenancy communications in line with the Letting Agent Code of Practice.
  • Build a clear picture of what good practice looks like at every stage of tenancy management and closure.

Who is this webinar for: This module is ideal for housing officers and tenancy managers who want to ensure their approach to ongoing tenancy management and tenancy terminations is fully compliant and professionally delivered.

Learning Format

A virtual classroom is a learning environment where participants can interact, communicate, view and discuss material, while working in groups, via an online platform. LAS use Zoom.

For MMR training modules delivered virtually, the webinar facilitator will confirm a delegate is present and therefore delegates need to be visible via camera or have made LAS aware in advance of why this is not possible.
